Michael
Roebuck's Family Christmas 2001
Christmas starts
early here for us. Christmas Eve, we have available family
members over for the day and we all exchange presents. Grandma
Murphy always cooks enough food for the entire block and we eat
very well. Next year she stated Carrie and I were cooking.
Looks like we'll be ordering pizza.
Grandpa Eric always
calls us and reads "Night Before Christmas" as well
which is really quite exciting. The kids huddle by the speakerphone
while reading along. After Church, the kids spread reindeer
dust that Grandpa Eric creates to attract Santa's reindeer thereby
assuring themselves of a good haul. After the kids are put
to sleep, we all sigh a breath of relief. Now I understand
my own parents much better.
Grandma and Grandpa
Murphy stay over so they can watch the kids open stockings on
Christmas day. Christmas Day the kids open presents from
us as well. Then they go visit their Dad and do everything
over again. Carrie and I then call everyone to ensure the
rest of our siblings enjoyed a good Christmas haul as well.
Then Carrie and I play with the kids toys without interuption
and clean the house. Finally, peace and quiet. Even
baby Malcolm seems to amuse himself quietly driving around the
living room in his new car (backwards. He can't push himself
forward yet.) This year we went all out and treated ourselves
and went to the truck stop for dinner. The steak was good
but we don't recommend the shrimp.
Well, by now hopefully
most of the below pictures have loaded. Enjoy yourselves
looking at them. The kids are really getting big.
Looking forward to seeing most of you in May on our "East
Coast America Tour" Have a great New Year!
